The problem
Build performance, memory usage, dependencies and CI had systemic issues that slowed down the whole frontend team. I owned the initiative to find and fix them.
The approach
- Build performance and memory: addressed the main sources of slow local builds and high memory use.
- Dependencies: audited the packages in use and evaluated the tech stack the team relied on.
- CI consistency: made test results consistent and stable in both local and CI environments.
The result
Local build time fell by up to 64.18%, average memory usage by about 49.15%, and vulnerabilities per audited package by roughly 42.2%. Tests behave the same locally and in CI.
